Has anyone ever built this particular kit?

I can only comment on the cabinet loaded with a cheap Sammi 8" and Tangband W8-1772 (nice enough match)
the flat pack cabinet is sturdy and has reasonably good fit
BK20 with a cheap Sammi 8" wideband outdoors - ~ ground plane and on-axis mouth open vs mouth blocked with a pillow
BK20 with the same Sammi 8" indoors augmented with a Selenium ST324 as helper tweeter vs
a Klipsch Heresy I in the same spot as that BK20 - the Heresy was probably elevated 17" off the floor so lost some bass coupling
btw - this was equal drive so BK20/Sammi combo was more sensitive than the old Heresy

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Wow, the Sammi is more efficient than the Heresy. Thanks for posting.
I built a similar back horn and was not thrilled with it. Scroll down to see a little picture of the BK16... or BK161... I forget the exact name.
