I was wondering if anyone can supply specs/data on a Foster/Fostex woofer. They are 8" and came under two model numbers. Sold here mid to late 70's and selling in Europe in the 80's at least. The Alinco magnet version was known as a SLE-20W. The ceramic mag' was a SLE-22W. (There was also what seemed to be an identical type on eBay recently and was a different model number (FE-8 I think) where the seller suggested it might be a pre-production version.) Just to complicate things further they were marketed here in Oz as a Plessey/Foster C200F05! A Fullrange site (not diyaudio) also had a contributor who thought they were used by Jamo in the 70/80's (but they are certainly NOT fullrange only up to 2kHz or a bit more).....if that helps anyone's memory.

I had a pair in about 1977 and then sold them (bad move).......been looking for another pair ever since and got two recently on eBay.

Just want to record my appreciation for the FOSTEX people. I emailed them for details of this old driver (SLE20-W) about two weeks ago and I got a reply this morning. Very helpful. It was a copy of a document from 37 yrs ago! Probably older than the person who sent it. But they had obviously dug around in the archives and made an effort to find it because it wasn't even on their current "discontinued drivers" list. Congrats. Nice to see serious customer relations....

i also just pruchased a pair of these drivers, what info did you receive from Fostex, and are you willing to share it. I am thinking of buildling a 2-way or 3-way (maybe active) with this unit.
