Hi Guys,
i was looking for plans for a pair of small boxes, so i came across the Fonkens at Meet the Fonkens. But all the plans are for older drivers that are no longer available. On that site it says "update coming", but that was in 2011. Any idea where i can find those updates?
Bye,
yai.

Either contact Dave direct at the email on his Planet10 site, or via this forum. No doubt he'll reply as soon as he's able.
The Fonken design alignment has been applied to a large number of drivers, and proven so successful we have had problems coming up with names :^)

I made some dFonken cabinets with Fostex FX120 drivers and was very pleased with them for the most part I ran them with a low power sets amp or the Nelson Pass ACA.

Thanx for posting that. Nicely done.
The dFonken is the small box for the FX120. There is also a larger Fonken-steen. Both plans can be found here: Frugal-phile | Box Library / Fostex

Thanks the heads up on the Fonken-steens they look a good candidate for a future project.
I was quiet surprised at the amount of bass that was produced from the dfonken and fx120's for a single full range driver. Having built a few standard box type enclosures in the past the little bit of extra effort it takes to do the Fonken style I thought very worth while.

I think the Fonken-steens are much easier to build than the mMar-Ken6pT, but i think i will make those, as the Fostex drivers are quite expensive.
Thanks for the plans, Dave.
Thanks for the plans, Dave.
The trapezoid versions of the miniOnkens are the hardest to make, and with the smaller boxes one starts having issues finding room for the clamps.

now, 4 months later, i made a pair. thänx again for the plans, dave. i like the sound and am considering to make another pair, with two drivers each. lets see what 2019 brings. i still have to build those metronomes, the drivers have been around for years ...

That is A7p? So Mar-Ken7pR. Excellent.
A twin driver version is certainly doable. Contact me when you want to do it and i’ll draw it up.

no, this is A6.2p from the planset you sent me, and there's a twin driver version in the plan set already.
A6.2p. I like that better than the A7p :^). mMar-Ken6pT. You may have done the 1st build of these. I’d love to see more pictures.
I have the “about the same but simplier” mMar-Ken6.2p with A6.2PeN and it is superb. Did an AB with a set of LS3/5As i restored, i much preferred the Alpair.

i admit the picture is not very good. i took it with my smartphone camera, and thats quite bad (Acer!). I will see if i can make a better picture these days. These boxes are for my holiday house in france and will look (and sound!) good next to the fire place. I will post more pictures.
