Just aquired a Rockford Fosgate 800A2 amplifier and upon removing back panel I found a power transistor (not sure if it's output stage or what) that connects to the heatsink with an ugly little goober of solder on one of its legs, don't know if it was just worked apart over time and some goofball tried to repair it because it is the transistor right behind the speaker wire connectors for the left channel, there's also a little cutaway opening in back panel in this area. Nothing really looks fried, not sure if I should fix this on my own, since I possess moderate circuit and soldering abilities. Hoping other components aren't fried along with this, love Rockford Fosgate and i already have two RF Punch P3 12" subs 4 ohm DVC and this amp would be perfect for them, replacing my pretty good Kenwood 940 watt 4 channel amp that's bridged and kinda just keeping up even with the Phoenix Gold 1.5 farad capacitor. Don't want a dang paperweight lol!
