i want to build a boombox on a trailer to replace a basic setup that i received a lot of help with putting together, the old setup was just a set of component car speakers on an amp6 amplifier but it broke after a few years and i want to replace it with a system with better dispersion and volume. However i have no idea how to go about matching speakers to amplifiers or what crossovers and batteries i need. i've tried googling for answers and just confused myself more.
i recently found this Instructable for a trailer mounted system which looks like a suitable layout but i would need a smaller sub to reduce weight and because i don't have the space for an enclosure of that size. would the updated midrange horn driver (P-Audio BMD750) in the instructable and an 8" Dayton Audio SD215A-88 subwoofer be compatible with a Maxamp20 amplifier? if not can you recommend a similar setup that will work with this amplifier and what crossovers and batteries i would need?
