Fender Rebuild

I recently acquired a Fender Vibrasonic 5G13 circuit. I ramped up the voltage to test the power transformer/output transformer (I purchased it as is with missing tubes) and it gives output. I am going to rebuild the power supply and recap as I want to play it, not collect. Any suggestion for the 20mf @ 600VDC axials. Very expensive caps. Any suggestions for the coupling caps ie types to retain close to original tone. I realize the caps today are different than vintage caps but the caps in this amp are 48 years old and have probably drifted seriously.

If you find the 20uF 600V caps too expensive, you can use 2 x 20uF 300V caps in series, normally much cheaper this way.

Ah yes sorry, I got sidetracked on this topic 😱

2 x 47uF @ 450V in series will give you a nice 23.5uF @ 900V. Use a resistor across each (220K @ 2W is good) capacitor to equalize things.

What is the B+ voltage in that amp when tubes are installed? Is it under 500v? If so, then yuo don't need 600v caps.
