feedback on this tip2955/lm317 supply

here's the circuit: http://www.shine7.com/audio/pa100_supply.gif

searching the net, I've seen similar designs but it uses multiple tip2955 and resistors on the emitter side (possibly use to balance the current between the TIP2955s).

some questions:
1. any suggestion for improvement?

2. are there any voltage drop across the tip2955?

3. If I want to create a negative supply using LM337, are there any changes required other than reversing the wires after the bridge rectifier? I believe a negative supply can be made using LM317 by just reversing the output but I want to see if using an LM337 is possible.

Thank you very much 🙂

The voltage will be the same as Vout of 317
U could use a low noise LT device instead of LM
It is always good to use same regulator for the negative supply. The parameters of both the halves will be the same. But be sure to use trafo with two (isolated) secondaries.
