PSU rectifier

Thank you for answer
Now i do not want to use the diodes ment for the universal PSU because i dont know what diode i should and where i can buy heatsink that will fit. If you now what diode and heatsink then i would appreciate if you would answer.

In the PSU build guide they say that instead of using the diodes on the board you can use a bridge rectifier. Like in the foto below. If you know a bridge rectifier that will work let me know I want to use a 2*18v 300va transformer. Will there just be 18v dc after it has run through the rectifier or will i need a more powerfull transformer. And what input does the Universal PSU need and what is the output.

AC times 1.4 = DC

18 X 1.4 =25.2 DC before load. A 300VA 18V transformer is what you need for most all the Firstwatt builds. The bridge rectifier installed on the metal chassis is all the heatsink required, at least for me. You could use a small piece of aluminum angle iron if you want to. In the USA I use these. An equivalent European one is what you want.
