Hi to all, i own a ctx ezpro500 and an expro550, the 550 loudness is far more annoying than the 500. I compared the units, beside the fact that the 550 is designed better, i discovered that what makes the noise is a small fan located in the lef part of the unit (near the power section), that extracts air from the back of the unit (the rear mirrors), di you guys think that is possibile to remove that fan and install a bigger one in the back of the unit (bigger fan means that small RPM are needed to reach the same ariflow).
What do you guys think about my idea?

you can look for a quieter small fan , same size. same ampere.
some fan have nice Ball Bearing, quieter, from some CPU or video card.

Thanks for the advice, actually i don't understand if that fan extracts heat form the rear of the unit or if it cools the PSU. In the seccond case your Idea is the only way to proceeed.
Unfortunately i'm moving to my new house so i'm afraid that i'lhave to put all my projects on hold for a couple of months. I'll post some results once my experimentations will be complete.
