Hi guys iesterday the temporary replacement condeser lens that i put on my ezpro500 projector emitted a sound similar to the ice that breaks in a glass of water and shatteres in 3 pieces ( i thik it was to o near the lamp), i removed it and i was surpised that i was actually able to use the projector with an unifoirm light (just a little dimmer) over all the screen (180 cm width) and a good image quality.
Is it safe to use the projector without the condenser or the LCD panel could suffer damage in case the heat would accumulate in the mirror cavity?
IS it possible that the lamp (halogen) explodes and damages the lcd?
Are there any problem that i didn't think of that can happen?

i used a normal dia projector condenser and worked fine for me (with cery littlle darkness on the corners). I'm tryng to figure out if it can work without condenser.
i dont see not having the condenser causing any major problem in operation i ran mine for 5 hours the other day without mine and it was fine.
ok not as bright as i like but still worked fine
and as far as the bulb blowing and hurting something, when my condenser shattered it shattered inwards so i had to get all the shards of broken glass out and it didnt damage anything
ps: what is the focal length of the condenser you used and what diameter size ??

the diameter was 52 mm (it was held in place by aself made iron wire frame) i hadn't the possibility to measure the focal lenght, but i'm plannig to measure the original one (i've got a working 550 also) asap. Diameter of the original condenser was about 64mm.
if The projector works fine without condenser i think that is possibile to leave it that way (in the worst of the cases) . Does some1 knows where is possibile to have one custom made in case the i'm not able to find a suitable one?
