I have for sale 4 full sets of transformer cores for PP 40-60W vacuum tube amplifiers. Unicore (octagonal wound core), GOSS HiB 0.27mm (loss < 1.03W/Kg @1.7T / 50Hz), similar in appearance to C-core yet with lower loss (comparable to toroid core). Cross-section of 2 O-loops 16cm2, weight about 4 Kg (each O-loop weights 1.97Kg). Large window size to accommodate complex winding. Brown color is due to thermal treatment (annealing). Photos of core dimensions, and one of the transformers I designed and built for myself attached below.
Not suitable for SE amplifier.
Unlike C-core, Unicore assembly have to be made very carefully in certain order (can send video instruction).
Drawing of the bobbin included (PDF + DXF), it can be made from any suitable plastic or composite epoxy materials 2mm thick, manufactured with laser cutting or CNC milling (clearance rounds for corners made for common 3mm mill). Companies which build and assemble large outdoor ads/lightning usually can do it for affordable cost.
