ESP P113 Compact Version

Hi guys, it's me again!

I decided, while waiting for my TPA3255 system to arrive (I tell myself I need to finish one project before ordering parts for a new one), to attempt to miniaturize ESP's P113 with some SMT parts and combine it with a PSU on the same board.

Gain has been set to 4.3 as per ESP's instructions as stock gain is way too high. All resistors are 1/4w 1206 except the 10R output resistors and the 0.1uF SMT caps are 0805 X7R. I also swapped the output transistors for MJE15032/33s. The PSU section uses two Meanwell IRM 15v units plus a CLC filter afterwards to get rid of the remaining noise, drawing inspiration from here. Middle hole is center of ground for the board and is meant to connect to chassis ground.

I uploaded the project to my GitHub here and the changelog can also be found there. Feedback would be appreciated as this is my first time laying out an amplifier. Thanks! 😀

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I really like this, thanks for sharing.

I made a version of the P113 using Nisbeth's Meanwell power supply board too and I think it's an excellent amp. I have absolutely no need for yet another headphone amp, which means I might end up building this as well!

Another update! Changes:

New layout with (hopefully) accurate measurements as drawings of case to be used have been received. Changed PSU to RAC20-15DK to save space and removed varistor. 1A fuse will be used instead of 3.15A. Output BJTs changed to MJE15028/29s as they offer slightly better simulated distortion. The gain resistors have been changed to 620R/6k2 and R2 has been changed to 1k1 to allow for gain values of 1.51 and 6.64. The CLCLC PSU filter has been simulated in LTspice and values were chosen that would not cause ringing. The DC protection and muting circuit from AMB has been added to protect the headphone out. On-board Y2 capacitor has been added.
