I would recommend that you have a look at the Dynaudio Esotar T330 (i think they might be about £300 each but not sure today)
I made many speakers, mainly for recording studios with these and the sound amazing for the money you spend....
They have a very flat clean response (to well over 30K if i remember correctly) and can cope with over 1000W peak for those high transients - as long as you have an amp that can deal with such peaks - we used to have a few amps that could send a 300 V peak into some of the drivers (no clipping there due to the power rails)
