The realistic electrostats I just got working (woofer needed foam) seems to have some issues with the tweeters after they have been playing a while.
30 mins in, the tweeters start sounding ragged. Has anyone had this happen. This must have sat for years. Is it possible they will get better as I use them ?

if you keep running them,they might get better, becuase if they have sat for a while they might be just burning off some dust that has been collecting in them.
Perfect sir, I ran em an hour, and no sign of the fraying noise. Hopefully I've seen the last of it.

They have plywood cabinets and a silk type front grill that can only be pulled off from the back side. They are surprisingly light. Nothing like the 60's anything. They are light.
However for sound they sound very very well. They are a bit like a ribbon for that effortless highs they produce. The details are great and highs are great too, but I prefer ribbons over them sadly. They make good volume too, I dont see how they can be inefficient ... I'd easily rate them in the high 80's atleast for spl.
Of course these are 4 esl's per speaker each about the size of a candy bar.
They have an 8 inch woofer in em and they just had to be foamed, but they are excellent too.

I knew that they exsisted but have never seen one until now.i'm sure the they were great back in the day compared to the dynamic tweeters of the time. jer
