I started construction of the Eros last Thursday and this is what I have done so far. I still have to order the parts from solen so I should get them by Wednesday. I will post more pics when I have completed them.
Unfortunately, I do not have the 1/2 inch router and massive round over bits reqired for rounding the baffle corners so I will just leave them square. This should makes it easier to veneer them.

Well, I have finally finished the Eros. Here are some pics
For the past 2 years I have owned a pair of Boston Acoustics VR975, Rega Planet and Rega Brio. That being said, I can only compare the Eros to the Bostons. Sure I've listened to many expensive pairs of speakers in Hi-Fi shops but I honestly don't remember what they sounded like, nor did I spend enough time listening to them.
With compare being the key word it is quickly realized that the Boston do not compare to the Eros. The Eros are clearly on another level of sound reproduction. Pop in Norah Jones into the CD player and you swear you can feel her breath. If a midrange fetish is your cup of tea then I recommend you find someone who has these speakers and listen to them. The Bostons always had a big sloppy bottom that would hog the presentation. The Eros on the other hand have a quick and tight low end. Unfortunately, all of this must be taken with a grain of salt as I have never listened to many of the big DIY speakers (Thor, Proac etc.). All I know it that I never thought I would have sound this good for such little money ($1200 CAD). Buy the way, the Boston VR975 retail for $2099 at my local store and like I said they do not even compare to the Eros. Also, all my listening so far has been through a Sony CD player and an NAD C340 (my other stereo is at my dads).
I will be putting up a website shortly on how to build these speakers (tools, tips, pictures etc.). I am no stranger to the wood working shop and it still took me roughly 70 hours to build them so be prepared, its worth it.

Ya, the cost includes crossover parts. If you get the parts through Solen ask for a discount, I think I got $120 off the regular price. It was $800 after shipping and taxes for all the parts. Another $400 (on the high side) for cabinet, veneer, glue, contact cement, varnish and applicators, it all adds up.
Those speakers look great. I've been hoping to build a pair of those in the near future. I'm looking forward to your website too. Your veneering work looks really good. I haven't started a veneering project yet, and I'm still a big gunshy as to how exactly to make the edges look right.

Beautiful work. I had very seriously considered building these in the past- now I kind of wish I had!
General opinion is that rounded corners have to be quite big to have much effect, so I doubt you have affected the sound with the square corners. They actually look a lot better I think, as you did them- the rounded corners would be like every other speaker, these have a clean look.

Fabulous job! They look great. I hope to start cabinet construction on my pair within a month and I think your website will be a huge resource. Any information you can add about any aspect of the construction would be very much appreciate. I'd also love to hear a more detailed opinion on thier sound. Kudos to you on a job VERY well done.
