I was wondering why eq's have often 12db or more boost and cut availiable. The highest change I've ever used is +2dB. It seems sorta pointless to me. Would it not be more useful to have eq's with like +-3dB change with finer tuning. I find even the high quality 15 and 30band eq's still have this much control.
They seem to use the same numbers(6,12,18) like crossovers use for slope but im not sure on the relation. ie 6db(often on deck) 12db, 18db.
