EPSON Powerlite 51c - Bulb Problems, Need Help

Hi,

I picked up a used Epson Powerlite 51c about a year ago. In that time, I have already gone through 2 bulbs (the original that came with, and a new one; 600hrs and 100hrs on them). The bulbs have not burnt out, as they still seem to work but are now defective in some way. When I turn on the projector, the bulb fires up and gets brighter for a few seconds, then the lamp fault circuit kicks in, kills the lamp, starts blinking the red LED and kicks the fans into high gear.

Since it seems to me that the lamps seem to still work (they are not broken or damaged as far as I can tell), I have been trying to find a way to either reduce the sensitivity of the lamp detect circuit, or disable it all together so that I can try and make use of these lamps that should still have hundreds of hours left in them if the projector didn't turn off after a few seconds.

If anyone has ever seen something like this before, or can offer any insight as to how the epson bulb detect circuit works and how to disable it, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks a lot!
