Apart from about 20% of the perimeter of the picture which is okay, the image has a brown / green hue. It's as though the exploded bulb blew some residue somewhere it shouldn't.
Has anyone ever heard of this or got any ideas of what I can do to try and fix it?

I would check througout the light path and clean anything I could with the strongest cleaner that wouldn't hurt whatever surface I was cleaning. You can't always see the mess unless it's got all that light going through it. Make sure to wash your hands before you start and every time you get something on them. I had mine all straightened out and clean and then put a big ol fingerprint in the middle. ARRGGG
