Hi...dear friend audio DIYers...

Need advice about enclosure volume for dynaudio MW 150
I'm aida from indonesia. I need your help to my speaker project. I want to build the bookshelf 2 way speaker. I placed Midbass dynaudio MW 150, but don't know how to calculate dimension of the cabinet or liters of enclosure.
I want to get deep bass in vented box.

Driver data is :

Thiele Small Parameters:

• Nominal Impedance (Znom): 4 Ohm
• DC Resistance (Re): 3.0 Ohm
• Voice Coil Inductance (Le): 0.16 mH
• Resonance Frequency (fs): 70 Hz
• Mechanical Q Factor (Qms): 2.25
• Electrical Q Factor (Qes): 0.68
• Total Q Factor (Qts): 0.52
• Mechanical Resistance (Rms): 2.41 kg/s
• Moving Mass (incld. air load,Mms): 12.3 g
• Suspension Compliance (Cms): 0.42 mm/N Transient (10ms): 1000W
• Effective Dome Diameter (d): 105 mm
• Effective Piston Area (Sd): 87 cm squared
• Equivalent Volume (Vas): 4.5 l
• Force Factor (Bl): 4.9 Tm
• Recommended Frequency Range: 55 - 3500 Hz

Magnet and Voice Coil

• Voice coil diameter (dc): 75 mm
• Voice coil height (hc): 10.9 mm
• Voice coil layers (nc): 2
• Magnetic gap height (hg): 5 mm
• Linear excursion: 6 mm
• Max. excursion: 15 mm
• Magnet weight (wm): 0.53 kg

Power Handling
• Nominal long term IEC: 100W (crossover
• dependent)
• Transient (10ms): 1000W

Mechanical Properties
• Net Weight: 101 kg
• Overall dimension: 145.5 mm diameter x 70mm

Thank you for you kind. see you

One suggestion that might work for you.

Vb=10 lit
Fb=47 Hz
Dv=1,5" vent diameter
Lv=5" vent length

F3/F6/F10 = 42Hz/38/35

hi dear lojzek
continue made of box speakers , for internal dampening materials Boxes , which are ideals, dacron or rockwool ? how thick and for placement in the box , any part that needs to be given a damping material ? certain parts of it , or the whole side . Thank a lot

You can use any of the mentioned materials. I have seen Dynaudio
Audience product line using a Dacron like material rolled inside
to fill entire inner volume except the space around vent. Not too
thick and not too thin. Measurements of impedance and FR show
whether the stuffing works properly.
