i was just taking the capacitor and transformer + ignitor off from a metal plate which they were all held on to, and the wires came out of the capacitor. They were just kind of pushed in, not soldiered on or anything. See photo below. Anyway i then put a wire back into one of the holes and i couldnt get the damn thing out again, and ended up pulling off the white cap at the end. I now have no idea which wire goes to where for the capacitor.

When i look at the connection on the cap end that i pulled off there doesnt seem to be any +/- symbols, so does it matter which way round live (brown wire) and neutral (blue wire) connects to it?

hope someone can help.

Thank you so much for the help! i wouldnt have know what to do otherwise.. i tried checkin the web but couldnt find much at all about which way to wire the capacitor.

The thing to remember is that a cap is a cap, it doesn't know that it is used as a ballast or a boat anchor. ..😉
So, AC caps can be connected any which way you want!

PS In case someone wants to ask, I prefer Spraque caps as boat anchors, they seem to damp the pitch and roll much better than Sagamo's...
