Hey,
I want to replace the caps (10uF) in my power amplifier (VHex+) should I use the Jantzen Audio Cross-Caps or simply the Elna Silmic II?
Thanks

They have completely different purposes, sizes , prices etc ...
Where is the cap you would like to replace? And what type of capacitor is the one you want to replace?

Just use a Wima film cap, that's what is used in a lot of high end solid state amps commercially availeble and it's not that expensive, probally even cheaper than a Jantzen cross cap. I would not use electrolytes as input or coupling cap, a film cap does it way better.
I would use these if you have the room.

L=41mm H=17mm W=23mm!!! $6.00 each!!!
The Wima MKS are only $3 and 7 x 16 x 11mm. Half the cost and 1/10th the size.

They are sold as a pair in that ad, might want to slow down and re-read that.
Also are a different part from the Mylar cap as well, if they are the best you’ve found, I suggest you keep trying more!
Not that those eBay parts are anything special either, just decent and cheap...

Really? Picture shows ONE capacitor. I do NOT see ANYWHERE in the listing that indicates that the auction is for TWO capacitors.
The polyester cap I mentioned (MKS2B051001N00JO00 WIMA | Mouser) has the best specs/size of any 10 uF capacitor of a reasonable size. Yes, a polypropylene cap has the lower DSR and ESR, but at a HUGE size that simply won't fit most applications. If you have found a better cap than the WIMA 10uF MKS, please share it!!

You're right!!....I must be blind, or old, or............
It's still too *******' big, though..........

Cheap and pretty good, just not really small, but sometimes you can find a way to run leads to be able and mount larger parts. These won’t have an issue if there are leads, unlike power decoupling. I have glued these on before, as there is a good flat surface to make that possible.
Not sure if the op is up to that however, probably found something else to do by now.
