Not sure if there is any value to doing it, but curious if anyone has ever tried it. I have searched many different ways, but am overrun by straight PR designs.
If one were to use a larger diameter speaker as a PR, they could vary the resistance to the signal generated by it's voice coil. This could be done with a fixed resistance or with a bandpass x-over to only work over a specific portion of the output.
Could this be used to make a PR enclosure sound more like a sealed?

That would only vary the Dampening of the PR, you would have to be able to add or subtract some weight via balloon bladder of some type in order to change the tuning.
