Dear Moderators:
I take it my thread was closed because you felt that the conversation was getting to dangerous....Although I can see where this is coming from (the moderator's perpective), I was asking advice to avoid accidents!! If you guys shut down every thread talking about something a little dangerous, especially when asking how to do things the right way, people will go ahead and try them without the correct answer. I know that their has to be a way we can keep these electrical advice threads alive (maybe have a certified person moderate them??). Also maybe a post warning that the thread may be closed if the dangerous topics continue would be advisable. That way the it gives the moderators time to maybe contact the electrical guru of the board, post a solution and then close the thread. No offense taken but still frustrated....

Hi Bitbyter
Mod Hat on
We are currently working on new safety guidelines that will be posted soon, and will be manditory reading.
We were not picking on you in particular, but we want to get this whole thing sorted so we have a proper DIYaudio safety policy, and until then,(it will be soon), we are clamping down on areas that could lead to people hurting themselves or others.
I have read your comments, and they will be taken on board, so I just ask you to be patient for a while.
Meanwhile, it might be worth you reading up on some background material regarding mains power, your local library should have something.

No Problem
No offence taken. Just trying to come to some common ground between the moderators and members. This board is a source of information for those trying to build DIY projectors, which DO require electrical work. Although everyone has different levels of skill in this area we should be able to pool are knowledge to ensure safe progress. Just my two cents.... 😀
