A real EL519/PL519 have higher allowed anode dissipation, (35W compared to 30W) and higher allowed cathode peak current, (1500mA compared to 1200mA) than a EL509/PL509.

There is a slight difference in max plate and screen dissipation (35 vs. 40 W, I think), but unless you're running class A, this is of little significance. In most cases, they are interchangeable.
