El-84 vs El-86

I have a pair of outputs from a Sansui 1000 tube receiver. They're 3200 ohm plate to plate, 8,16 and believe it or not 32 ohm output. I'm thinking of using them with El-86 tubes.
I'm kinda leaning towards the EL-84 amp for the first build, and save the Sansui outputs for a later build.
Anybody have opinions on the sound (sonic) of either of these designs?

My current amp uses EL86's in PP. Very similar sound to the EL84 really - all of the good sonic signature. Sweet and smooth with a slight valvy bloom. They are cheaper to buy generally (I got a quad of Telfunken EL86's for €35.00).
Any EL84 amp should be relatively easy to adapt to using a EL86, lower voltage higher current.

Isn't 3200 of Raa a bit low? I used EL86 in a amp instead of EL84 due to lower plate voltage and i've seen they work well at lower plate load ... i think i was around 6K plate to plate not 3K ..

Anyway...EL86 sounds sweet to me 🙂

Looking at the original Sansui , 25E5 are used in the output stage, so why would you try a so different tube?
EL/PL36 seems a good candidate to me or 6BQ6. Also EL34s would match primary impedance...
