Hey all, i got an old Eiki LG XG200 projector from a lab, they said it needs a lamp replacement (Lamp light is fixed on red also in standby mode), started it but after about 10 secs it turns off (Warning Temp. and Ready light Flashing)...fans are ok and i tested the lamp with a Xenon HiD ballast and it fires up with no problems so it's not completely burned off...i think maybe it's ballast fault but i can't find someone who bypassed this stuff successfully...i would try to put in a 100W 7000k led but i need to know if someone fooled this control circuit making it working without lamp...replacement is around 300-400 euros and i'm also not sure the real problem is the lamp... 😕
Found Service Manual with schematics http://www.iceco.com/Eiki/Service Manual XG110_210.pdf seems the same for XG200....On the ballast there are three Octocouplers near KBL connector, two of them in one direction (One of them with around 6 Volts on the two pins on the opposite side from the connector) and the turned one that probably gives an output has all 4 pins on 0 Volts
Lamp Detection must be the first wire in KBL connector that goes into port 123 but giving current doesn't change anything...nor grounding it (Know it's unuseful but I just gave a try)
Everything seems ok with the projector, optics without a scratch and very complete input interface...rlly don't want to throw it away without doing everything possible to ressurect it 🙂

If you have had the case open shoot a little compressed air into the LCD prism block from the top down first. It could be you have a fan that's getting hung up at startup. Start at the Prism block first and work your way blowing air out and away from the block. Are you getting any light from the lamp at startup at all?? IF so and it doesn't make the countdown it could be one of the three fans or some other part thats signaling the unit that something is wrong and it is shutting down. Please decribe the symptoms a little better.
If it is the lamp detection circut thats the problem and you can bypass it so the ballast functions please let us know how you did it. Thanks
