EICO HFT-92 reception

Did you build the Eico yourself?

I have two each of HFT90 & HFT94 that I built myself around 1960, just after the Earth kooled
The HFT92 as I recall is the poor man's alternative, both AM & FM in one box.
First things first, if you have the build manual there should be a schematic
& a table of voltages by location that you can measure. Don't do anything without doing that first.
By all means don't meddle with the precooked FM front end module. The 6AQ8 might be low,
especially if it has been run for 60 yrs. Most people don't have a tube tester,
but an in socket voltage test is a very good place to start. A Simple DVM or VOM will do.
You may find some resisters are no longer what they should be,

Good Luck 👍
