Edge ? full range open baffle

I have made several pairs of open baffle full range speakers for my brother, daughter and buddy. Now its my turn. In all of the speakers I used a H frame with either bass either a Emminence Alpha 15 or Goldwood 18. All of the speakers sound great! But.
There is a broad trough in the frequency response from about 300 Hz to 1kHz.
When using THE EDGE program this fills in best with a very minimal baffle.
In fact according to THE EDGE, this is the only way I can get a simulation to increase ABOVE 1kHz (and below)
Yes there is more bass reinforcement with a larger baffle, but my full rangers will be cutting off at about 400 Hz
(6dB/octave).
Just in the drawing stage at this time,
Any comments on TINY, cool looking open baffle baffles?

Post 507 on 🙂

The 4.7 ohm/15 mf correcting circuit is dealing with the baffle step.

The step is between 400-500 hz and 1.4-1.5 khz with peak about 750 hz.

Midrange drivers are Fane Sovereign 6-100 and are cheap but good sounding ones!

They need zobel circuit in order to make the attenuating L-pad work across their whole frequency range...

I guarantee for the sound despite the little frightening looks of the crossover network 😱

Pretty linear sound with details and no noticeable peaks... The most important is that the solo drum is very realistic and the voices are very good... you can hear either silent and loud sounds at the same time - that is accounted for the linearity I suppose...

It would be good someone with more knowledge and experience to run simulation and/or take measurements, because that is accidental discovery for me... but I'm quite proud of it!

Bass unit is solid maple.
Top is acrylic 3/8" thick
On this pair I made a board with a routed slot to hold the acrylic baffle. You can move it around on the bass unit.
On the other two pair I routed out a slot on the bass unit that the acrylic slides down into to hold the FR baffle.
