Hey guys, 😎
I heard from somewhere that ECC186 is a special quality version of ECC82 (with longer life for computer application).
Is this true? 😕
Has anybody tried this tube in the place of ECC82?
I've got 3 PHILIPS ECC186 in boxes, and they are all labeled, SQ (Labeled 'Special Quality' on the bottom of SQ).

Hey, a fellow kiwi! 🙂
Apparently they are direct subs, but have a lower cathode-heater rating. So if you're using them in a cathode follower or SRPP arrangement you might want to be careful.
BTW what are you using them in??
