no, i have nothing to do with it. i just thought it was a rare find, and the $250 price is pretty cheap, especially compared to retail price ($1200 @ usspeaker.com).

That sub only has 9mm Xmax. I would like to see a huge sub like this with some real Xmax. A good 15" should get pretty close to the same displacement.
yeah my sub will definately make it sound like a midwoofer once you get below 30hz. One thing about that sub is the requirement of a insanely large enclosure
that is the beyma that requires a large enclosure.... i have a tumult, and well the enclosure size can be rediculisly small.
That's true BassAwdyO, but this woofer is 11 dB more efficient than your Tumult (87 dB vs 98 dB / 1W / 1m), the upper bass should be very impressive with 1000W, with a theorical 128 dB without room gain.

A Tumult is definitely a fine choice -- you'll get no argument from me on that.
But the Beyma is really efficient, and at the current $250 price, is a pretty decent bargain IMO, especially if you can live with a large enclosure. I think the Beyma in a 10 ft3 ported enclosure tuned to 20Hz would be pretty decent.

The Beyma 21" is a PA woofer and thus optimized for SPL, while a tumult is optimized for low frequency reproduction.
Actually 9 mm for a PA woofer is pretty good for good brands. A lot of brands ussually don't come with an Xmax over 9/10 mm for most woofers. Other parameters like Qts, BL and No are also important and desire 'magnetsize" aswell.
An 21" has a Sd about 2 times higher than a 15" so the displacement is the same as an 15" with 18 mm of Xmax one-way.
The 9 mm excursion is the ussuable Xmax/ excursion, 7 mm is the true Xmax none-otherless (easily calculated). What's Adires way of calculating Xmax?
They're both outmatching eachother in there own fields of use. Tho my guess is that the 21" would be a very nice sub for home use as well.

Did anybody miss the displacement? 1.6 or 1.7L (darn short-term memory, I just looked at this! )
Adire has several drivers that will sweep more than this, up to 5L! with 6+ inches smaller diameters and considerably smaller box sizes.
