The SB 850 is nothing more than a bass reflex dual 18
bin.
This will be the easist to build. However, you will need to tune the box according to the drivers you are planning
to use.
The SB 1000 is a reflex bin with drivers angled in a "V" fashion
This will be a little tricker to design, due to having the proper spacing between both drivers to prevent the cones from smashing against each other when driven
The KF 850 is a fully Horn loaded top box, and, honestly
would be cheaper to buy used, than getting the right
driver components to replicate the same sound.
How skilled are you in building horn boxes? Do you
know how to measure the flares according to the
length of the frequency? Can you purchase the horn
flare for the compression driver? Do you know part
number? Which KF 850 were you intrested in building?
They made like around 4 different versions of this
20+ year old cabinet. Driver components have changed
through the years also.
If you are up to the task in building some, go for it!😀
If not, go get some used ones.
IMHO the only box I would build would be the SB 850.
The SB 1000 is a clumsy design, and, frankly doesn't throw
nowhere as close as a folded horn. Heard plenty of times
I was never impressed.......

Thanks for the advice i use eminence omega 18 inch subwoofers would that be good to put in the sb 850 sub box and as for skill i am a newbie but i would have taken the design to a carpenter or someone who is good in wood working. Are the designs available.
The Eminence Omega 18 is ok. But, the Magnum 18 LO
would be a better choice if you want to stick with the
Eminence line.
I can scale the SB 850 for you. However, I rather be
certain if you are going to use the Omega's or something
else.

There good. Its just they won't perform like EAW SB 850's.
EAW used RCF in their earlier model, then moved over to B&C.
You purchased them already so, we'll make the best of it.
Now. Since this is a PA Box, we cannot rely on room
gain, nor heavy eqing to make this box sound good.
It needs to offer the frequencies without any aid.
The Box will be tuned at 40 Hertz, giving you a - 3dB
at 37.82 Hertz Normalize Gain. If you like what you
see, I'll give you the cabinets dimensions.

This is the comparison when using one box versus two.
Purple Represents Two Cabinets
Blue Represents One Cabinet
You're looking at 104 dB from 100 - 40Hz using one box, and,
110 dB from 100 - 40Hz using two boxes (2.83 volt, 1 meter)
Note: Measurements are an estimate (+/- 1 dB)

dont mean to be a menace but what company is b and c speakers and i have been trying to purchase rcf speakers but cant seem to find any.
😀 Have a look......... www.bcspeakers.com
RCF are no longer a part of EAW/Mackie. Loud Technologies
are going through structual changes so they will be
available in the market shortly. You can check Ebay periodically.
I take it that you are in New York, (Your location says
Brooklyn) so give Canal Hi Fi a Try. For the record, they carry;
RCF
Fane
Celestion
B&C
Eighteen Sound
Transparance

hey what do i look for when i am buying subwoofer. i am looking for a big bang. is it the lower the hz or the higher the hz.
Dude.
Just use the Omega's you have, build a cab according
to their requirements, and, scrap the EAW Clone idea.
It really doesn't make sense to buy four new woofers,
when you have four that will do the job.
What kinda amps do you have to drive these things
anyway?

You're better off using the Omega's.
The box I scaled around the Omega's will work fine.
Drop me a PM, and, I'll give you the dimensions.
