i remember awile back that earthquake sold a bandpass sub with this amp on it a 10" iirc, and then in the carstereo review buyer guide one year it was listed as a component you could get for a custom sub job. i emailed them about specs and a manual, and the reply i got was to call this long distance number. does anyone have any info, pdf manual, spec sheet, ect on these amps or an opinion? im thinking this would make a good gift for a friend that is building a system for his car that wants the amp mounted on the box for eazy removing for extra space.
oh and is earthquake still good gear? or did they go the way of ppi, soundstream, orion, a/d/s, and a few others i cant think of at this moment? thanx

Hi
well, from what the pictur shows , the amplifier will probably deliver smthg. around 100 -150W RMS . the switching power supply has only two Mosfets, a small transformer and the outputs run with 2 pairs of power transistors. Much more than 150W RMS is just not possible.

ya... i kinda figured that would be the case for power output... most car amps i,ve seen have 6 time the components in them for that kind of power. the thing that got me was the fixed active x-over, and the thin power wire for the amp. the pos and neg look like there 16 ga. wire, for a 150 watt amp i like 12 or 8ga. not only that but the high level input is in the same harness as the power. also the fuse looks like a 15 amp. hell my alpine 3522s has that and its rated @ 30x2 rms or 60x1.
this amp would be interesting for messing around whit though. hhmmm i have a pair of coustic power logic 10's...

Hi
if you need a good powered amplifier in a small housing try to find the blue Signat series. The "Signat Ram II MK 3" delivers ~500W RMS (tested in a couple of car hifi magazines) into 2 ohms bridged (2x150WRMS into 4 ohms, even 1 Ohm stable in stereo) and uses high quality parts , 2 power supplies ..... There had been a company called ALTAI that sold identical products. Not sure if they are around in the US.
I´d always suggest to go with something "bulletproof"for subwoofers, like an older series Hifonics or similar amplifier.
