(evette)
You are new here, apparently.
You will get better answers starting a thread in the Solid state forum. FWIW, the Dynaco ST-120 was nominated by Lynn Olson as the worst amplifier of all time.
Good luck to you.
Really, consider building one of the First Watt amps.

Remember, we live in the middle

I didn't do a search to find out what a first Watt amplifier is, but most diagrams on this forum have your expensive speakers protected from that welding transformer (50 amps, 70 volts) by a little bit of silicon in a steel can. Professional PA amplifiers, by contrast, costing about $900, have speaker shutoff relays and very expensive, mostly patented protection circuits. The Dynaco Stereo 120, for all it's faults, has the speakers protected at least against DC by a couple of monster electrolytic caps. Out here in the middle, lightning strikes are a significantly frequent event. I saw lightning jump out the knob door of my TV once. I think my ST120 took a lightning strike once, I did not lose the (you can't buy exact replacement) speakers. I lost some replaceable bits of sand in steel cans. For making a ST120 sound better, search djoffe on this forum. I'm no help for new boards, I am afraid. I got mine of the dead parts shelf for $50, and repaired it without a schematic back when the internet was something the DOD used to communicate with military bases. Now that I can download a schematic, I found out how to make the protection circuit work at 6.5 amps (design spec) instead of 2 amps (by guessing). The internet is wonderful. Speaking of lightning, now about all those generator windmills that put expensive electronics at the top of a 50' steel tower! What a laugh.
