Well gee. There's not a whole lot to be figured out.
The QD-1 is completely passive.
There's no electrical power going into it other than speaker level output from what ever amp you are going to run into it. It performs no amplification of it's own.
This is about as simple as "psudeo surround" gets and for some people it works fine.

How hard can it be be to reverse engineer a bunch of passive parts?
I don't encourage it,to me it equals computor hacking.
Up to you but it's only a 30 USd boxie...is it worth it?
