Thanks to all that helped me in this thread: Dual 701 turntable assembly problemsNow automatic seems to work with a new copper friction plate, but now I have this problem; When using arm lift, the arm raises to desired height with a little headroom/slack above, so the arm can still to move a little bit up.
When automatic raises the arm, the arm is pressed all the way to its max height, creating a lot of friction? The main lever arm (219) controlled by the cam wheel is adjusted, so it's just presses the control stud/steuer pimpel (167) up 1 mm. There seems to be a problem (adjeustment issue) between the Main lever arm (219) and the Lifting bolt (47).
Picture below shows the arm, when it's pressed all the way up by automatic.
Any ideas?

Her is a better picture of the issue.
When automatic is adjusted to lift the arm to it's max level by the Main Lever, there are still clearence between the Main Lever and the Steuerpimpel - meaning that the Main Lever is NOT moving the arm in our out...
I can't see any way to adjust me out this problem? The mechanics is working perfectly, the manual lift function is adjusted correctly (=functions as intended), however the Main Lever is pressing the the arm via the Lift Pin (47) hard to it's top position and thereby creating a lot of friction even before it will even touch the Steuerpimpel (167). All spring and dampening functions seems to work.
Thanks in advance

Please note that if you don't also tell us how you solved, it's as if you were denying the very value of the Forum.

The problem was the small finger adjustment screw that had a crack due to age. Just ordered a new one 🙂Solved 🙂
Hi All. The never endning story continues......
Got almost everything adjusted and working (after changing a broken pos. 61 (part no. 218 318) "Positioning sleeve" which caused the tonoarm to lift to absolute maximum creating huge amount of resistance during automatic tonearm movements). Fixed now!
However the small ball pos. 165 keeps faling out of the groove of the "Shut-off slide" pos.164 when turntable is tilted heavily. I know this kind of tilt is NOT practice during normal use, however it could happen during transport! I see no way how to ensure the ball stays in place without bending the Shut-off slide out of shape??? Any good ideas?
