As per title need help with this turntable...
Does someone know where I can get a power transformer for this record player or have one willing to sell ?
47nf (X2) capacitor shorted and passed 240V to the 110V line and fried it.
Dual P/N 244474 (position 111 in service manual)
0-110-220 - 16.5Vac.

You don't give the current rating, but there is a 16.5V/2A transformer available here:
Power Supply Transformer 16.5V/2A: Amazon.co.uk: Camera & Photo
Unfortunately, the dimensions are not given, but you could contact the seller.

Hi, sorry i was tired yesterday hence the stupid question (I knew it was the trafo)
That transformer is way to big the service manual states 25mA at start up and 15mA running at 220/240V.
The original transformer is +/- 50x40mm with +/-15mm for the lamination.
Also need the 110V leg of the coil for the strobe light.
Thanks people.
Any friendly member here from Germany ?

Sorry, I misunderstood the 110V reference and, of course, 2A would be overkill for the application!
Kay Pirinha hails from Germany and knows a thing or two about turntables. Perhaps he'll catch your thread.

Hi Galu
The thing is that I found an original transformer in Germany but the seller (Polish) will not send it to Britain or anywhere else only Germany so was hopping to find a German member willing to help

EI 50x40 is not the smallest of all transformers.
You can probably find a suitable replacement at the local electronics shop.
Nominal voltage of 15 or 18 may be applicable.
What is the price of the original ?

25 euro (+ postage) but includes housing + strobe light and the switch for the arm.
Local electronic shop ?
Nothing around here the only one (Maplin) closed down year ago

I think you don't need the 110 Vac tap. Replacing C51 in the strobe lamp circuitry by 33 nF should do when connected to 230 Vac. If the neon doesn't get bright enough, go to 47 nF.
Best regards!

I wish you were right with that but the transformer is fried/burned the primary coil is no more and it blows the fuse strait away.
I could "improve" the power supply but would like to keep it original.
I may have come to a solution with our college as_audio lets see how it goes
Thanks to all

Yes, I had understood your tranny is toast. I was just referring to my answer to your request via my PM account where I suggested to use just another PSU without that 110 V tap.
Best regards!

Well back in the game with this Dual
Many thanks to our friend as_audio for his help without it I wouldn't be able to keep this 604 in original condition ( well with original parts)
Already spoke to a carpenter to have a nice plinth made of some hard wood.
Let the fun begin...

Dual 604 S/N104222 up and running ( in a 701 plinth and with 701 counterweight for now).
Does someone has a 604 counterweight for sale ?
It doesn't matter the condition has long it is complete.

Hi there
I tried gegengewicht. gewicht and also just searching the audio page on ebay.de with no luck, I think that finding an counterweight for this one is going to be a lottery.
