DTA-2 with 4800mah battery?

I've been rebuilding some stereos with DTA-2 modules, i have some i would like to make portable and am not sure on how to use the battery. i already purchased one of these to test, 12v 1800mah

works great with DTA-2, and my Lepai Mini Amp

also, since there is a switch on the battery and i'll be installing these inside stereos, is there a way to extend the switch to mount externally on the radio?

The capacity rating may be optimistic. Chinese lithium-ion packs are liable to be made up from recycled laptop cells. The voltage range will sacrifice some headroom; a 12V SLA battery would be heavier, but has an ideal voltage range, and is easier and safer to charge. 12V 7AH is a very popular size in ride-on toys, emergency lighting and burglar alarms, and small UPSes. The trick is to find a good price along with cheap shipping. If you qualify for that Amazon free shipping thing, you're laughing.

On the other hand, 10.8 volts will still provide plenty of power. And if the original cells die, you may be able to rebuild the pack or adapt it to use 18650 cells rescued from laptop or tool packs.

The switch may be soldered to a circuit board, but you could just leave it in the off position and connect wires to an external switch.
