Driving components...

 Yes it sounds nuts,

Here is a thought and yes its open to interpretation.

How much power does it take to drive a component so it doesn't effect sound quality?

I'm talking everything from passives to actives.

I'm beginning to wonder how much power it takes to drive a component.

Looking at cables driven or fed from a volume control..capacitors in circuits for coupling etc..and resistors including trim pots.

Yes I am serious. The effect the current drain has on the signal...

I'm thinking along the lines of something driven from a current source as it passes through components at what point does it impact the signal.
Everyone will say if it doesn't show on a scope then its not important..well what about transient?

Cables have less impact when driven direct from a current source..put it through a pot and its another story..well what about driving coupling stages?
(the loading on the signal)

Can there be micro transient?<<not the sudden bass impact the micro detail..sound transient at low level..

Eventually, you'll hit moving a hypothetical electron by a planck length - the final quantisation barrier. I suppose following that you've quantised the energy stored on a capacitor...

Hey look, I've invented an audiophile product.

For resistors and stuff, I wouldn't worry so much about it - drift velocities are, I suspect, continuous right down to zero.
We're waving bits of cardboard around with magnets. Lets see if we can get that bit right before trying to work out the QM that might be holding our cables back.

Well,

we are back to kirchoff's again..as we divide the current how many times can we divide it...before the source can't keep up?
The source would be the supplying component..its a bit like micro sag..

Its just a thought...the current available at the input to a volume control isn't the same after it..perhaps the difference between dc coupling and capacitor coupling? How much power does a component take out of the signal supply?
