hi there, i built the shiva box and had to wait for funds for the driver but then, everyone is back ordered. i called Adire Audio and was told that the DPL 12 had pretty close parameters to the shiva and should perform fine in the 142.5 ebs design. i'm not quite sure how to model the DPL 12 in WINISD PRO for performance in this box. if anyone gets the free time that they could model it in the shiva box, i would be very greatful! The Shiva graph looks very similar.
It has been said that the DPL is mostly a Shiva
with a prettier frame for dipole application.
I have two of them in sonotube vented boxes. They
go deep! But a subsonic filter would be a good idea
if you plan on pushing them hard.

hi herm, and thanks i had one person on another forum tell me that my response would have a bump in response around cut off and i should entend the vent another 5 or 6 inches to the 17" straight 4" pipe i have now to tune it to about 16hz but this is all new to me as the box is already built for the shiva, it would shure be a pain to try and tear into it and add another 5 or 6 inches to the vent. do you think it's that important? also, i won't be pushing it hard i usually don't turn my system up verry loud and mostly listen to music. sure appreaciate the help i guess i should have waited on building the box he he but just couldn't wait i guess i learned a lesson. thanks crippledchicken 🙂
hey, that sure sounds good to me. i just live in a small mobile home so surely i should get plenty of spl without having to push it to hard i would think. i'll for sure just drop it in when it arrives next week. then by the middle of january i'll be able to order the 240 watt amp from parts express and be ready to give it a go. thanks verry much for all your help and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours. crippledchicken 🙂
