Does any one know the pin out of a Dell H600e-S0 PSU???

I've got 2 Dell h600E-S0 PSU's, and I'd like to use them as power supplies not inside a Dell server.

Does any one know the correct pin(s) that should be shorted to ground to turn them on?

Google the pictures. I'm guessing the 750 series have the same pinout as they look the same. Otherwise check this picture from pinouts.ru:


Edit: it states these pinouts were used in many psu's but the layouts were not always the same. If I were you I'd just try the ones for the 750. Using a resistor of e.g. 100 ohm to power it up shouldn't do much harm when connected wrong🙂

I've tried this one and no luck.

The only thing that happens is if I short A5 or A6 to the case, I hear a relay click and the incoming power LED goes off. I tried every pin to ground with the 100K resistor and got nothing.

Do U have to ground more than one pin at a time?

100k is awful high. Try 1k.

Measure B6 "PS_ON" with respect logic ground. If B6 shows close to zero volts then tie it to one of the +3.3V standby out via 1k which hopefully will turn on the rest of the PS.

Shorting A6 to chassis is a bad idea, you are shorting the standby +3.3VDC output and likely triggering the short circuit protection mechanism.

My B6 seems to be logic ground. Pins B2,3,5,6 and C5,6 all seem to be logic ground.

Pins A5,6 and B4 and D2 are 5V. Pin D5 is 4.81V and pins C4 and D3 are 2.8V.

All other pins measure 7 to 40mv. There are no 3.3V pins.

Looks like the pinout from post #2 doesn't apply.

You are on your own unfortunately. You should start reverse-engineering the pinout.

In server PSU you often should short several pins simultaniously. That's why it's much more difficult to find right way by experiment.

I actually solved it!

OK, on the Dell H600E-S0 the rows are A on top and D on the bottom.
Left to right for 1 to 6.

So pins C4 and D5 short to ground (pins B2, 3, 5, 6, C5, 6 are all ground).

This allows the power switch to operate the PSU.
