I want to put together a pair of speaker cables for my rear channel, the cables will be about 30-35ft with soldered spades on ea end. has anyone compared Monoprice 14g OFC speaker wire and Southwire 14/2 bulk speaker wire?

Before this devolves yet again another one of "those" threads - I always tend to like the cabling on which it's easy to identify conductor polarity. Note that with wire this thick, even with pre-tinning, the amount of heat required to get a good solder connection can often melt back the insulation, so I like to dress up with a small length of color coded heat shrink tubing if the spades don't already include booties.
Tis a very specific request?! What do you mean "compared"?
Oh, one's solid, I don't like that. Monoprice has a good reputation
Eh? "clear solid stranded" what's going on?

I would toss Blue Jeans cables into the mix. They'll provide a first class termination on any length of cable you specify from their stock.

comparison-from what I understand Southwire is tinned copper strand and the other is OFC strand which is more conductive but more prone to tarnishing over time. soldered ends and heat shrink should do away with most of that. Is there any sound quality different if using the same solder and spades?
and a friend brought up a good point, a pair of 30ft blue jean/audioquest speaker cables would be more cost vs custom cables using 14/16g speaker wire and good connectors.
have clear jacket wire insulation improved? - the old Monster garbage oxidized copper very fast. Monoprice has an in-wall cable which isn't too expensive

by "solid copper" assume = real copper and not copper-clad aluminum wire - aluminum is an ok conductor per unit of weight but seems brittle and prone to fall apart when flexed.

Blue jeans has another site selling unterminated cable called rawcable.com
Personally, I use the blue jeans belden 10/2 and 12/2. Canare 4s11 would also be on my list for cheap cable.

Any question about the 'sound' of speaker cables is bound to turn into one of 'those' threads. The only question is how quickly this will happen. This is simply because people of one persuasion cannot bear to see advice from the opposite persuasion lead a newbie astray, so whichever school of thought you belong to you can only remain silent for a while.
Is this thread turning into another one of "those", so soon?
At least I now know what "solid" might, or, might not mean. Thanks Freddi....
I dont know how I missed the bulk wire on blue jeans website, even the terminated cables are pretty reasonable in price. sounds line BJC is the ace in the hole Ive been looking for, thank you for the suggestions.
