Anyway, it might already be her somewhere but I can't really find it.
Has anyone done a good upgrade clock for use in DVD or CD??
I'm going to do some moding of my otherwise perfect Denon DVD 3910.
I actually like the sound very much, but I guess I can get a little more out of it by modification.
I'm not going to spend a lot of money on this project, as I guess the money would be better spent on a new and better DVD.
Therefore I'm not prepared to spent 150 Euro or more on a new clock from Tent, DEXA or other quite expensive alternatives.
Has anyone done something similar, using more standardised components with good results???
Bessides a better clock I'm considering changing the op amps in the I/V and buffer stage.
As I said I think it is already a solid construction and I'm not expecting to get a night to day experience in sound improvements.

Some have built the KWAK-CLOCK for DVD with good results.

I wonder how this clock 7 would perform and sound to more established solutions from LC Audio, Tent Labs etc.

It's quite a lot cheaper solution, but will probably be an improvement to the clock in my Denon DVD

Just read a bit about TI's CDCE913. Seems like an alternative to the Kwak .... anyone tried this or has any comments?

Elso Kwak's clock is a well regarded DIY clock that has been around for quite awhile. Also, he still sell kits at reasonable prices. I believe you can contact him at elsokwak at home.nl

Hmmm you might be correct. I don't think it is that obvious what the graphs are showing.
I asumed that the green curve was the output and the red the "input". In the text relatively low jitter walues are mentioned both in RMS and p-p values

avoid synthesizers if you want to build serious clocks
above all, for a CDP / DVD you "just" need a good master clock

Ok. I think I'll try the Kwak Clock 7.
It should be pretty easy to convert it tosingle +5 VDC.
Also thinking og using a shunt or actually two on for the oscillator and one for the comparator.
I'll use the crystl that is already in the DVD, and a MAX913 or a LT1016 as I already got one these.
Will try to get the J309 ... but might have to substitude .... any ideas of a more common type that will do?
