I've found a bunch of links to the Responce 2.5 DIY Project, but I'm wondering if anyone has done the 2s?
Is it as simple as cutting the 2.5 in half? I've got a friend that has a pair of these, but I'm sure he wouldn't want me tearing into them to find out what is in there.
Any thoughts?

Mr Tripps (or is that Captain Tripps?): With all due respect, the answer is why bother building a Proac Response 2 when it is now an old and antiquated design compared to the 2.5. The 2.5 uses a modern Scanspeak carbon driver combined with a larger floorstanding cabinet to give killer bass compared to the 2 ?? The 2.5 is also apparently sweeter and more musical.

I really like bookshelf speakers. I've got a real nice set of Target stands and I'd like to keep using them. I know I'll get better bass from the 2.5, but I always liked the look of the Responce Two S.
BTW: Captain is fine. =)

If you keep the baffle width the same, and re-tune it, you should be able to make a nice bookshelf out of it. I would also look at www.murphyblaster.com, as he has a design using the usher 9950 and 9545 in a bookshelf speaker that should yeild very similar results.

They are supposed to be outstanding, some ears like the sound of the 9950 more than the scan-speak 9500
I have no experience with them though.

Enjoy,
