Building a back up 2 channel Dj mixer. It's all RCA Inputs and outputs. How to I keep a few volts of dc power in the lines so the output is either greater than or equal to the input? It's all line level audio (cd players computer iPod), so I don't think I have to incorporate a preamp. Because if I just attach a potentiometer to each channel and send it out the 5k ohm pots will completely diminish the audio so that the output will be very very low. How can I boost this?

With a pre-amp or buffer
DC on an audio signal is death to electronics. You need a pre-amp or buffer.
