These things look great. I did however notice that the heat shrink is all different lengths. I usually draw some kind of template for slicing tubing with an exact-o knife when I cutting even a couple of pieces. I’ve built jigs for doing big batches, but a couple of lines on a sheet of cardboard is quicker and keeps me from getting sloppy.
When I saw your 1st prototype it got me wondering about using a set-screw to set the tension.

Tom: You may want to replace the heatshrink in your design with teflon tape. Maybe you will hear a difference, maybe not. But even if you do not hear any difference, at least the experiment is simple and cheap.
