Disassembling a USD1000 24 inch TFT to mod it

I have a Dell 2405fpw monitor which is 24" that I bought two weeks ago.

Of course, I would like to mod it because obviously the lowest brightness setting of the backlight is bright enough to be completely unusable in low light environments. I have high contrast everything for extended reading and design, and the black of the monitor is actually grey because the backlight is so strong even on its lowest setting .
 :hot: :bawling:

so I still have a luscious wonderful ancient beautiful 22" CRT beside it, which I still use most of the time:cannotbe: :clown: .

The plan is simple, open it up, find the wire going on to the backlight, and place a resistor on it to get the voltage under control . else I could use a better pot with a wider range .

What should I know to do this, how easy would it be?

😀 😀 😀
