Disadvantages of compensating magnet?

Hi!

Since my speakers induce a heavy magnetic field, distorting my TV (no cinema speakers, yet in vicinity of my TV), I would like to compensate the magnetic field produced by my mid-range and high-range speakers via a (specially made for these visaton speakers) compensation magnet.

But prior to doing this, I would like what disadvantages I get by glueing those compensating magnets to the speaker drivers? I think that they will dampen the "force" of the magnetic field, not only for surrounding applications, but also for the operation of the driver itself.

Is this hearable? Any advices?

Bye,

Compensating magnet

Hello:

I'm new here. The effect when my ADS 160 mm woofers were "double-magneted" was a decrease in bass (30 to 60 Hz octave) response.

I solved this situation by locating the loudspeakers away from the TV set instead of keeping double magnet. Music is more important than TV to me.

Another solution could be internally shielding of woofer's magnet with some adecuate material (like mu-metal foil or similar).

Good luck and happy listening! 🙂
