im working on an ads amp and the diodes that were in it were fep16ct and fen16ct i replaced them with u1620 and u1620r are theese the same because now there is no sound out of any of the channels and there was before i replaced all of them because 2 channels didnt work now none work
The diodes are good, I would check polarity for correct positioning on the board. Try a voltage measurement also...🙂
not sur if i did it right but on the set of diodes i didnt replace when ap is turned on i put the eter leads on the outer 2 legs of the diode and get a reading of -.68 and the channels work the other diodes theres no reading at all just 000 wondering what could cause this if i put the posistie and negative diodes in wrong spots wouldnt this cause major problems when powerd up
im thinking 1 of the torriods is shorted when i put my meter on one of the torriod legs and to the irfz44e i get 0 ohms to the middle leg and the gate leg also wondering if this is where my problem might be all other torriods when put on the same leg and to the gate of the irfz44e's i dont get a 000 ohm reading
ok you guys are probably are gonna think im an idiot which i probably hae to agree i was in a hurry putting this thing back together i was looking at the amp somemore trying to see where the problem is. I put in the mpsa 56 and the 06's in wrong i put the 06's where the 56's go and so on i took them back out and gonna check them to see if they are still good and then put them back in the right order maybe this will solve the prob
ok i put the back in the correct order but i still have a problem when powerd up the outputs get very hot within a few seconds i checked the all and they test fine wondering now where do i go from here what do i check any help would grealt be appericated and thanks for all your help without u guys id be stupid at even uessing where to start
