Ok i need some serious help here. I want a nice lil tune in this car i'm setting up. I have to run a very good 6x9 for my bass frequency. The owner doesn't want anything big, jus the mst out of what he is going to use. He can get Digital audio very cheap, so what I'd like to know if are they a good brand in ters of their subs and bass production. Also here's the line up of what we have available : Digital Audio DAK693 ; Kenwood KFC-6908 & Pioneer TSD690R. Please help me choose the right one for my client. Any ideas are welcomed.(If you know any other around the $80 mark that are great, please say.)
Narrow your choice down to Kenwood and Pioneer right quick. Digital Audio sounds suspiciously like a "brand" sold in white-van scams, and you're likely to get burned. Or if you're doing this for a customer, you could get a very bad reputation. White-van speakers are notorious for being very cheaply-made and terrible-sounding, especially for the price you pay. There's also a Digital-something-or-other that is made by Audiobahn, and those would actually be quite good for you. Make sure you know which one you're getting before you buy or place an order
Well BAM, the Digital Audio brand is made by Audiobahn. The thing is i can't actually try out the speakers as my cousin is the one getting it for me in New York, and the way he is, he'll just buy what I tell him. Anyway, would you say that this Digital Audio is better than the pioneers, or kenwoods ?

I'd say scrap 6x9 all together. 6x9s aren't the best for hi-fi, you could buy some 6.5" from Peerless such as the CDC165C04, and match that up with a tweeter such as the, RDC200004 or, a tweeter by Peerless that uses a flange to mount it to a baffle. You'd probably get better results that way and you know that you'd get a much higher value for bang vs. buck. Also, search the forum, I'd swear that this topic has been brought up.

hmm, 6x9s should have more cone area then a 6.5, and this could help out the lower end extension. however, you can't easily find parameters for 6x9s other then an opinion of power handeling (irrelevent in this case) and an opinion on the lowest it can play...
though this also happens for the majority of non-subwoofers in car audio...
since he's not planning on using a sub, and is not looking for audiophile sound, and would likely accept something that is loud and a tad on the boomy side, i think a 6x9 is a great idea.

Yes, Peerless drivers are made in Denmark under a larger company Danish Sound Technology. The famous places that ship these badboys are Madisound, partsexpress and Solen.
If you still want a 6x9, I'd recommend going for the 2-way models because basically, the three-way and even four-way models haven't proven themselves still. What speakers does your friend have up front? Or will have? Because, you should have timbre matching as one of your goals. Of the three you had mentioned, I'd buy the Pioneer because everyone where I live, carries Pioneer so that's gotta' mean something right? And, a friend has those, though he's getting the peerless drivers because he's selling the 6x9s.
