Just wondering why this inductor has leads of different length (I'm only used to seeing this on polarised capacitors). The datasheet doesn't specify.

Purely for pick and place machines, it more difficult to insert components with equal length leads into a PCB rather than staggered leads, as you will know if you cut the leads from a component to equal length and then try to insert the component.
